Day 26: Handle In the women’s ward you will find a Victorian drying rack which folds away into the wall! While the alcove and metal are original, the wood has added by the museum. The heat from the boilers would rise through vents to dry the clothes! #Museum30

Day 27: Discovery Can you spot these oddities around the museum, what else will you find? Over the many years of use this gaol saw, it went through many renovations. You can see remnants of older and now disused parts, including stair ways which don't go anywhere! #Museum30

This #heritagetreasures day we have been looking at 30 objects from our collection while exploring the idea of 'What does justice mean to society?'. We are exploring how our vast collection of archives and historical objects connects with contemporary issues of justice.

We know that things can feel a little heavy right now. If you need to take a moment of quiet, our exhibition spaces are free to enter. Our exhibition, Hope, shares a series of photographs that explore hope from different perspectives. All are welcome to come along and reflect

It was a privilege to meet Cecilia Mwenda and the team from HEAL Collective for the launch of their new display at the National Justice Museum, Ghosts of Yarl's Wood. The exhibition shows why we need an immigration system that doesn't punish people simply for seeking safety.
