Let's give a big congrats to Derek Cummings for being one of only 10 researchers at #UF listed as highly cited by Clarivate for Academia & Government! He's demonstrated significant and broad influence in infectious disease research, with multiple highly cited papers that rank in the top 1% of his field.

These have been a rough past few years in terms of #cholera outbreaks including some with really high mortality in Africa. There is a real need to better understand who and why people are dying of this disease we know how to treat.

Anyone consider that maybe Elon’s mission, is for Elon to get what he wants, rather than the country to get what you voted for ? It’s not a shock for Elon , or anyone, to put their personal goals first Elon seems to be on a mission to protect brand Elon at all costs. No ?

Texas is having its worst measles outbreak in 30+ years. “This outbreak began in a very close-knit, rural, Mennonite community that has very low vaccination rates. And unfortunately, we have seen vaccine exemptions really soar in Texas in recent years.” cbsnews.com/news/texas-mea…

The Trump admin just fired key staff at NIH’s Alzheimer’s research center - including the incoming director. With 6.9M Americans affected and cases set to double by 2050, cutting research means fewer breakthroughs and more suffering. Patients and families deserve better.

This is horrible & exactly what we are afraid of - measles kills ppl In ~100 infections in TX, someone has already died For those w/out vacc- it is not the benign virus you’ve been told 1:5 hospitalized 1:100-1000 die This will spread further. 1/ apnews.com/article/measle…

I've probably treated more measles than almost every doctor in the US and the amount of nonsense I have heard on the topic on this site is staggering. Bottom line - get your kids vaccinated and then you dont have to worry about measles
