🚨Whole-class feedback is a game changer!🎮Our 6 week study of Section B conscious crafting has been FULL of instant, meaningful, and clear feedback each week. On reflection, I don't think I've ever had a better understanding of where my class is at the end of a topic! Buzzing🐝

😍🌹When being met with such gorgeous stimuli, creative writing lessons are simply a joy. Being able to read 30 original pieces of writing during lunch is such a treat to top it all off! What a topic to teach👏👏

One of the biggest developments to our conscious crafting came today - adding varied, original, and creative figurative devices to our LP1 SB arsenal!👊Nothing shapes a description like wonderful techniques peppered throughout🤌

Beauty of our booklet!😻Noticing misconceptions in our crafting as I circulated, we paused and flipped to a later lesson to intercept a misconception! 10 minutes and we're back on track again with a renewed focus🎯

1⃣word can shape your writing! Today, we explored another advanced structural device to take our crafting to the next level! Students picked this up so quickly and noticed how much sharper their responses instantly became!💪

Started the new term with KS4 today by celebrating our 'Academic Reading Booklets' - highlighting great examples with lots of prizes, praise, and reminders for the term ahead. A lovely way to start the term!🏆

Reading through the Conscious Crafting booklets this half-term, this was consistently one of my favourite areas: Opening, Flashback, Link to Main Paragraph! Reading the variety and originality was just a joy 😍Incredible efforts!

Utilising 'Reverse Engineering' tasks across both Literature and Language proved highly effective revision tools last term, as well as useful in developing writing stamina✍️💨. Pose a sentence, idea or concept and ask students to "show their working out" 💭

When providing whole-class feedback, I'm always keen to explicilty model what we need to develop. Narrating the process to ensure students have a clear perspective on the process, the misconceptions, and of course, the end product we are aiming for🎯

Digital detox to ensure full focus on my exam groups and year groups, but ready to crack on with this final term - learning, sharing, and connecting again 💪Starting with a morning refresher☀️

By utilising colour-coded bookmarks, Year 10 are smashing their 'Macbeth' annotations as we develop routines to differentiate areas of academic reading and track key themes throughout! New process, but flying so far 🚀🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Pre-reading intellectual prep is ready to go for the new academic year - a summer project to maintain reading discipline and to prepare for the next step of the KS4 journey!💪😍
