Pained to inform that we have lost Sumit Sen, exceptional birder and mentor who did so much for the birding community of Kolkata/West Bengal and beyond. His co-authored ‘Birds of India’ is a landmark publication. Rest in peace, Sumitda, and may there be birds where you are!

A few days back 12 together was in the news, now see 16 #GIB together in a single frame. Kudos to the efforts of habitat conservation by all stakeholders, we need such photos periodically and regularly. With hearts full of love they gently guided others—ensuring every step to the Masjid was safe and filled with respect In moments like these, some shower empathy & some flowers and thus love becomes more than just a word—it becomes bond of Fraternity. And it always wins #JaiHind🇮🇳

The majority in our country bear these sentiments. It is for us to reciprocate and not indulge in any activity detrimental to the country . We must remain true to our salt and refrain from actions which hurts the sensibilities of others.

A dedicated soul, lively person, always keen to learn, Mr. Radheshyam Bishnoi left all of us last night. He was in a team with Forest Dept and all 4 lost their life in a tragic road accident. He was the strongest pillar of #GIB conservation.

Resident waterbirds breed across the country during the monsoon months. Abundant rainfall = higher breeding success. #Monsoon2025 #birds #IndianBirds

Why does sugarcane taste so sweet in India today? India’s sugarcane wasn’t always this sweet. The reason it tastes the way it does today goes back to the stubborn brilliance of one woman who fought prejudice, doubt, and even war. Thread. 1/19
