UNICEF Water,Sanitation,and Hygiene (WASH) Specialist Theresa Pama alongside DG Kaduna Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency today visited Deputy Governor Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe to provide an update on Kaduna’s progress towards achieving Open Defecation Free (ODF) status, as well as the challenges being encountered.

Through the collaborative effort of UNICEF and Kaduna Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency, 9 LGSa in Kaduna State were today certified as Open Defecation Free at a ceremony attended by the Deputy Governor Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe. The LGAs are:Jaba, Kaura, Jema'a, Giwa, Kudan, Chikun Soba, Kubau, and Zangon Kataf.

9 LGAs officially certified #OpenDefecationFree in Kaduna State! But with over 600,000 people still practicing open defecation, the journey continues. We commend Governor of Kaduna and stand committed to supporting a 100% ODF Kaduna by 2025. Let's make it happen for our children!
