Religious #minorities, particularly #Hindus here face an inherent, underlying & internalized form of casual bigotry in daily life that is injected, projected & promoted through hate-filled curriculum, & all forms of media. We must stop living in denialism, let's accept it.

On #TeachersDay I will not forget two notorious retired foji teachers of NUML Islamabad who had discriminatory attitude towards me due to my Sindhi Hindu identity. One of them even asked me to go back to Sindh for education. I can forget anything in life, but not discrimination.

This has happened to all of us - in our education institutions, workplaces, and day-to-day life. The bigotry and discrimination against #Hindus or non-Muslims is so internalized that it will take ages to root it out.

Casual bigotry against #Hindus in #Pakistan is so deeply internalized and injected through State's narrative of otherisation and exclusion taught in textbooks that even well-educated people in our close circles don't realize the shit/nonsense they speak.
