It was a privilege to have met Prof Douglas Chamberlain - the father of UK paramedicine. I still remember his “10 rules of a normal ECG” from a lecture 17 years ago. A kind, humble man whose legacy transformed emergency care. Rest in peace, and thank you.

I don't think Kim Leadbeater MBE MP understands the first thing about mental capacity.

At second reading, MPs were told their concerns could be sorted at committee stage. At committee, they were told that problems could be fixed at report stage. And now, they are being told that the Lords can fix the bill. The bill is unfit for purpose. Vote it down.

I am a palliative care doctor who is not opposed to AD. But on the eve of tomorrow's vote, it boils down to this. Enshrining in law a state-funded right to die, while not enshrine a similar right to the palliative care that might make life worth living, is deeply wrong. 🧵
