Newburyport could have cut it to two, but a tough pass through heavy traffic gets intercepted, and in transition Scobbo rips one top-left corner. Medfield up 11-7.

Kendall Herrick scores another to put Medfield up 12-7 late third. Newburyport is playing down a girl the rest of the game after getting too many cards.

End 3: Medfield 13, Newburyport 7 If the Clippers, down a girl, have 12 perfect minutes of lacrosse to play, now is the time.

A good start. Emily Chandler picks up the draw, then Bromby splits two defenders and goes low for her fifth of the night. Clippers cut it to 13-8.

Kittredge is too clutch. After Port got the first goal of the quarter to maybe make this interesting, the junior -- besides having 6 goals and 3 assists -- wins two straight draws that led to goals. Macropoulos gets the latest one, and the Medfield lead is 15-8.

The FPs are quite a certainly up a player. On one, Kendall Herrick hits a wide-open Maeve Kelly for a goal. 16-8 Medfield, 730 left.

Elizabeth Blake gets a goal for Medfield while two girls up, and we have a running clock for the last three minutes of the Division 3 championship game. 18-8 Warriors.

Final: Medfield 18, Newburyport 8 For the second year in a row, the Warriors take down the Clippers in the Division 3 state championship game. Warriors have won three of the past 4 .. a great, great program. But so is Newburyport, which had another awesome year.

South grabs a 7-0 lead on Jayden Torres of Triton’s 12-yard camper around left end. Play set up by a nifty 4th down conversion where Swampscott’s Joe Marino caught a 7-yard out and lateraled to St. John’s Prep’s Jeff Quigley for another nine yards.

It took a Patrick Mahomes-esque, Adam Silver gifting the Mavs the first pick-like, rig job for them to beat our B- team. See ya next year when it really matters, Mexico.

A vote on NCAAT expansion is near. The biggest reason behind the push is "access." But that's a bogus selling point and I have the proof right here. One last clear-eyed case against messing with a beloved American treasure. Leave the tournament alone. cbssports.com/college-basket…

Just caught up on Love Island before tonight's finale, and it just further proves that America doesn't know how to vote. Taylor was the best one and him and Clarke should have won.
