It's been a while since we had a synthesis-driven paper. Fun write-up, with a rare new topology. On top of that, great water sorption characteristics, from talented team and lead author undergrad Karla Ravin (now a grad student Princeton Chemistry) J. Am. Chem. Soc. pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10.10…

Curly & circular crystals: In our article in J. Am. Chem. Soc., we report on crystals that grow in a curled or looped shape. These crystals demonstrate nonlinear optical activity, with second harmonic generation approximately twice that of urea NYUAD Research: pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ja…

I'm thrilled to share that I will be starting my independent career Indiana University Chemistry Department in July! The Wentz lab will interface synthetic chemistry with materials science, while providing strategies to access new generations of molecular building blocks and macromolecular materials.

💔2 hrs ago... was notified that my current NSF grant focusing on the Synthesis of Stimuli-Responsive Materials for emergent energy technologies was terminated without any explanation. What did I do wrong? Always thankful to my students @Shustovalab USC Chemistry & Biochemistry

#materials #MOFs #membranes Physical stability is as crucial as chemical stability in MOF membranes. See our recent findings on a new microscopic, vapor-flow-driven mechanical amorphization in MAF-5 membranes during pervaporation Pfizer Inc. J. Am. Chem. Soc. pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ja…

Check out our latest #OpenAccess publication in Nature Chemistry where we explore the remarkable properties of zwitterionic open-shell bilayer spironanographenes. Huge thanks to all our collaborators! nature.com/articles/s4155…

Check out my recent collaborative effort with guenther on the creation and the implementation of a new Virtual Reality software for aiding visualization in Materials Chemistry: pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac… Many thanks to Research Corporation for Science Advancement for the seed funding that helped us initiate this

Supramolecular “click” synthesis of ring-in-ring complexes—Traditional methods for synthesizing ring-in-ring complexes often face challenges such as poor solubility and low yields due to irreversible, kinetically controlled reactions. Now, Liu, Wu, et al. report in J. Am. Chem. Soc. an
