In a roomful of high school student journalists working through their lunch, I let out an audible gasp when I saw the alert about WashPo. My eyes started welling up. The kids kept working. Not going to forget that moment.

Nothing like finishing out a 14-hour workday — more than half of which was volunteer time, all of which was supporting others — and stopping by the workroom to see your colleagues’ mailboxes all stuffed with thank-you notes. At least I had a couple of newspapers in mine.
