FIRE DANGER: Dry air along high winds in southern Utah over the next 2 afternoons will keep fire danger running high. The France Canyon, Bridge Creek and Forsyth Fires will be burning hot and fast! #utwx

Could it be? There are early indications that we may see a push of monsoon come late next week into early July. This would be HUGE for the southern Utah fires!

WILDFIRE SMOKE: Models have been advertising a northward movement of smoke today. Could see some of this get into the Wasatch Front today. #utwx

TRIPLE DIGIT COUNT: So far this June we've only seen 1 triple digit day, that accounts for the summer count as well in Salt Lake City. Day #2 could be this upcoming Monday, no complaints so far! #utwx

4TH OF JULY WEEK: We've got a light tap of monsoon moisture that could bring some t-storm chances to the Wasatch this week. We're hoping for some wetting rains, but I think we could get some microburst winds in areas with some lightning. I’ll be tracking it! #utwx

MICROBURST POTENTIAL: I'm keeping an eye on some scattered t-storms that could produce some downdraft winds tomorrow Tuesday July 1st. Risk level 1/4 on the scale, but definitely something to watch if you live in the dark green shading (Southern ID, northest NV and northwest UT).

JUNE REVIEW: We only saw one triple digit day last month, but it still goes down as the 9th warmest on record. You can thank warm overnight lows and 17 days clocked in the 90s! #utwx

RECORD WARM MORNING: Wow! We did not cool off at all last night! Salt Lake City just tied a record from 1990 for the warmest overnight temp for today's date July 1st! Did you feel it? #utwx

GRANTSVILLE DUST STORM: Tuesday’s microburst winds kicked up a dust storm that engulfed some roads in the Grantsville area! Delroy Gordon said there’s been construction in the area, of course this added to the dust being available for these 45 mph gusts. #utwx

FORECAST CHANGES: Hi-res models onto something here. We could see some scattered t-storms tomorrow! Heads up if your 4th of July plans take you outside Friday - rest of the weekend looks dry and warm. #utwx
