For the week ending July 6, 2025, 66% of Kansas sorghum was rated in good to excellent condition, according to USDA’s latest Crop Progress Report. Sorghum planting reached 94%, just shy of both last year’s pace and the five-year average of 96%.

KSP staff, leadership, and state officials met in Hays for the signing of HB2172, boosting long-term water investments. The legislation supports the Governor’s FY 2026 proposal to increase the State Water Plan Fund to $140 million annually.
