Residual herbicide programs in #Sorghum aren't optional - they're essential. Postemergence options are limited. Start clean with strong preemergence residuals with multiple sites-of-action. #ksag #grainsorghum #weedcontrol bit.ly/3Fbyw8i Jeremie Kouame K-State Weed Science Extension

I've had a couple of calls about dayflower species this spring. There are no good options for postemergence control in corn or soybean. Pyroxasulfone (Zidua, others) and metribuzin (Sencor, others) can provide fair to good control when applied preemergence.

Don’t let sericea lespedeza take over your pastures. This Category C noxious weed is expanding west & north. Early-season control is key. Learn about control options here: bit.ly/4mCRTrG #ksag #weedcontrol #noxiousweeds

Corn looking rough after the cool, wet weather flipped to warm and sunny? Rapid Growth Syndrome can cause twisted leaves and yellowing, but most plants bounce back fast. Learn more here: bit.ly/4jvJLX7 #corn #ksag

Hophornbeam copperleaf has a funny name but is a serious problem in some Kansas fields. Today we sprayed some plots in fields identified by an agronomist in central KS to evaluate postemeregence herbicide programs for its control.

Good morning from the dryland production systems of western Kansas. Soil water availability is a major limiting factor here, and most of the region relies on annual precipitation. Weed control is essential for conserving the already limited soil moisture and increasing yield.

Field bindweed is a tough perennial weed that can slash #crop yields by up to 80%. Single herbicide applications won't cut it; long-term, integrated mgmt is key. Learn more: bit.ly/44cD1sK #ksag #weedcontrol

These Palmer were all sprayed with Liberty Ultra on Sunday afternoon (except the two in the back). We'll be talking about the sprayer setups and other things related to great glufosinate apps at field days next week!
