NEW: TX lets out-of-state students buy homes to get in-state tuition. The law has led to an industry of families paying in cash for condos, owning them for 2 years, and selling them to the next out-of-state family. Often, the students never live there: kut.org/education/2025…

🧵All eyes were on Elon Musk as he slashed his way through Washington this year. But what about the Texas Capitol? I set about tracking Musk's influence here, where he's moved most of his companies. His star may be fading in DC. But Musk had a very good year in Texas. #txlege

"A very busy day" at ABIA. The TSA expects 35,485 departing passengers, about 500 more than July 3rd last year. The Fourth of July? More chill: 24,840 departing passengers expected. But Sunday after the Fourth tends to be busier. Last year, 35,194 were screened through TSA.

The current flooding event along the Guadalupe River in the Texas Hill Country is just incredible. In Comfort, TX, the water level rose from 3’ at 9amCT to 29’ at 9:45amCT. The water level rose 26’ in just 45 minutes! This is what a wall of water in a flash flood looks like.

Officials say if you don’t live in Kerr County or have people that are missing, “don’t come here.” They say people were blocking bridges today to watch flood waters while officials were trying to get crews into the area to help people.
