Jhonattan Vegas’ lead at the PGA Championship is a good opportunity to recall his incredible route to the PGA TOUR, one that involved sacrifice, risk and an indomitable optimism. Jhonattan was 17 when he moved to the United States from Venezuela, arriving with just his clubs, a

I take no joy in Rahm pulling a Frosty the Snowman and melting into a puddle. It bums me out. Hope he can find his old self. It seemed right there.

Pretty sure we covered the heck out of this one, including on site live pods. I'm grateful if you missed my takes. I'll be back soon.

Earnest take: I like it when golf dads tell their sons how proud they are. I like it that Scott Scheffler does it to Scottie regardless of outcomes. I watched him deliver this same message when Scottie finished 41st at Pinehurst. Call me cringe if you like. It's a good message.

I think it's a message the Schefflers are happy to share. I think the fact that Scott was a stay-at-home dad who ran the household while Scottie's mom worked as a lawyer is kind of a undersold aspect of their family story. They're unique in a lot of ways.

(1) Scottie wins at Oakmont. (2) Rory nips his chance at the career grand slam at Portrush, winning the Claret Jug on his home turf. (3) Scottie wins the Tour Championship. (4) They end up at the Ryder Cup, Sunday Singles, and settle it. Loser goes home to stew for 7 months.

This reminds me of that, when Sarazen made his famous double eagle on 15 at the Masters, Grantland Rice referred to him as a "stocky, swarthy Italian" in his lead.

Soly had a chance to play Oakmont at media day, here’s (almost) every shot from his round. Can confirm, this place is very hard.

Godspeed to all the LIV guys, some of whom seem very happy personally. I remain in awe that they believe "We don't work as hard as we used to, but we get paid more, which is a huge part of the appeal for us" remains a selling point for FANS.
