🔥Super excited to share our latest work out now in Science Magazine science.org/doi/10.1126/sc… This paper describes the discovery of "glycosyrin" a small molecule produced by the bacterial pathogen P. syringae to manipulate glycobiology inside host plants during infection.🧵1/20

Sleep hormone keeps fruits and veggies fresh much longer Leafy vegetables and fruits are start to go bad pretty quickly, unless they’re kept cold. That’s a big reason why roughly 30% of our food ends up wasted and thrown in the garbage to rot. earth.com/news/microneed…

Davide Bulgarelli opened Day 2 of #Rhizosphere6 with a great plenary talk, highlighting how domestication and plant breeding shape the rhizosphere microbiota — and how these insights translate from lab to field. 🌱

We are excited to share our new story with you! We show how losing a binding domain can flip an antimicrobial effector into a host immune suppressor, highlighting functional specialization across the saprotrophy–symbiosis spectrum. Read more: biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

I'm very happy that this paper is now published in PNAS! Isochorismate-based SA biosynthesis appears to have emerged in the Brassicales after the divergence of C. papaya, likely within the timeframe between the divergence of B. maritima and R. odorata. pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn…
