Internet, this is a young spotted lanternfly, right? When I say I spent my weekend trying to smash it… Ultimately didn’t smash it, rather sucked it up with my handheld vacuum 😤

Nooo 😫 Adult spotted lanternfly sighting at our house. This is the first we’ve ever seen them in our area. If you see one, STOMP IT!! Seriously, that’s what you’re supposed to do - they’re super invasive and bad for plants and agriculture.

If you just got an Emergency Alert sent to your phone, that’s because there is a “considerable” flash flood threat - which really is significant. Warnings have three categories 1- baseline (no WEA) 2 - considerable 3 - catastrophic Take these alerts seriously! ⁦WUSA9

#MdWx There is serious flooding on Beach drive between Franklin and Cedar Lane. Saw a couple cars drive in foolishly and struggle to get passed it. Water is rising still.

A Flood Watch has been hoisted for more of the DMV until midnight. Storms will be scattered, but with an abundance of moisture to work with, isolated flash flooding is certainly possible. @WUSA9
