I don’t know who needs to hear this but… exit polls aren’t really a thing in Canada. If you see an account talking about exit polls, check to make sure it isn’t a bot because it probs isn’t someone familiar with Canadian elections.

I’m in Toronto and the GTA today talking to voters for The New York Times. It’s a beautiful day to vote, Canada!

Trump doing Trump things on Election Day. In post addressing Canadians, he asks them to vote for him so he can make Canada the 51st state. Calls Canada, a sovereign nation, a "beautiful land mass." Incredible, really.

One of the first voters I spoke to voted for the Marxist candidate in his riding. Why? "Because I'm a Marxist." Fair enough. (He did elaborate, but the first answer was pretty good.)

Some general themes from talking to voters around Toronto today: -Conservatives say they want a change after 10 years of Liberal government. -Liberals say they trust Carney over Poilievre, though many also told me they were voting strategically and prefer NDP -no one likes Trump

These Atlantic numbers are all better for CPC than expected, but do not include the advance polls, which are expected to be more Liberal.

BREAKING: CBC News projects the Liberal Party will form the next government. It's too soon to say whether it will be a minority or majority. cbc.ca/news/politics/…

Both CBC and CTV are now projecting a Liberal win, though still TBD if it will be a minority or majority government.
