The #SL govt & politicians recognise the damage that the continuation of #FGM is doing to the country’s reputation & health of girls/women. Until the govt. implements a total ban, they are infringing the human rights of girls.

I find it difficult when our communities welcome some organisations who think they have power and connections, come into our communities, steal our ideas and prevent it as their own. But it not only our ideas they steal, they steal our PAIN and present it as there own🥲!

At this point I’m jaded. I appreciate US support but money will not fix Sierra Leone’s democratic consolidation. Before the election NDI gave about $1 million to support civil society orgs. We know those orgs and we didn’t see or feel or hear their impact. Instead they were
