A BETTER INTERNET: Kamyl Bazbaz of DuckDuckGo joined @SachaLouise + legal experts to talk #USvGoogle remedy trial & how to respond to Google’s illegal monopolization of the search market. The consensus? We don’t have to settle for an internet that’s shaped by Big Tech.

Really enjoyed this chat about remedies to Google’s Search monopoly w Kamyl Bazbaz, Sacha Haworth, and Doha Mekki. A summary of my comments linked in the below thread. Among them, “I’m optimistic that we’ll see a democratization of the flow of information across our society.”

This is how you know the market isn’t paying attention. As long as Google remains the exclusive default (i.e., no user choice required), it will stay the overwhelming leader on iOS. Making AI an option no one can find won’t change that.

There were a total of 12 amicus briefs filed in support of Google’s Search monopoly last week. Google indirectly funded every single one of them.

Big Tech wants Trump to kill Europe's antitrust law before it really bites. That would be a huge mistake — and betray his own pro-startup agenda. My take in Financial Times on why America shouldn't save Apple and Google from real competition:

Wow. Justice takes time. This reminds me of research almost a decade ago on how much of Google’s data collection happens “passively” rather than “actively” when a user would never expect it.
