We should never ever be considering doing away with Jury trials in any situation. The right to be tried by one’s peers is a fundamental basic right. No government should ever contemplate doing it.

Page 323 Leveson, says Judges deciding whether the accused gets a jury trial. This MUST be completely rejected. If there was ever a reason for the Criminal Bar to robustly reject these recommendation’s this is that. I have faith in Shabana Mahmood MP but she must be told strongly.

Reports of women and children killed waiting in line for nutritional supplies yesterday in Gaza are horrific. The UK Government calls for an immediate and independent investigation into this incident. Protection for civilians and unhindered access to humanitarian aid is vital.
