Helping someone to see and believe in what they are capable of is a gift that costs us almost nothing but can impact someone's life tremendously.

I honestly have felt in a rut lately. However, getting two things of good news in one week is definitely a confidence booster!! Got a paper accepted to Leukemia Journal on Monday, and just found out I was chosen for an oral presentation at the Experimental Biology 2022 Conference!!

So excited to have this officially in print and out now on Leukemia Journal!

It's been a long week and on this Friday afternoon I want to leave you with this beautiful quote from my friend M.A.Carroll PhD, MS: "You have an opportunity to matter in the world." Melissa shared this wisdom with our students and it has carried me through this week.

At the end of my career, I will not care at all what my h-index is or how many papers I published. However, I will care tremendously whether I was a good mentor and had a positive impact on the lives of others. I want to live those values every day from now until then.

Had a great last day of #Anatomy22 Was able to catch up with @Mika_Caplan_ and gave my first in person presentation at a national conference! Rocked the platform with my good friend Sydney Greer, PhD UNMC Dept of Genetics, Cell Biology & Anatomy

Had a great time at TreeRush Adventures at Fontenelle Forest for one of our last lab outings before the lab is being moved to Utah. Can’t believe that it is coming to an end, and we will all go our separate ways soon.

About 25% of the time I am down running Flow, I get mistaken as someone who is in charge of the Core. Hopefully that means it looks like I know what I am doing 🤓 because the people in charge of our Flow Core are amazing!! UNMC Flow Cytometry

Just completed University of Nebraska Medical Center Dissertation Boot Camp, and the entire experience was extremely beneficial! I am definitely walking away with multiple great tips and tricks to continue being productive and motivated while writing!!

Every day we have the choice of whether to dwell of the mistakes and failures of yesterday or to focus on the growth and improvement that are possible today, and which we choose will have a profound impact on where we find ourselves tomorrow.

Remind yourself that.. - You deserve to be where you are - You are smart - You are strong - You can do this

Today I successfully defended my PhD dissertation with minor revisions! I wouldn’t have made it to this day without these wonderful people pictured along with multiple people not pictured by my side! Might be a little biased but Dr. Karli Wittorf sure does have a nice ring to it!

I have officially graduated from UNMC with my PhD! Thank you to everyone that has supported me and helped me get to this point! I am truly blessed and would not have made it without you! Congrats to my fellow UNMC Dept of Genetics, Cell Biology & Anatomy PhDs who also graduated!! #UNMCGrads #WeDidIt
