Exciting work from Doudna Lab and co. to identify a new #CRISPR -Cas system from large bacteriophage that be co-opted to work in mammalian cells for gene editing. As a microbiologist, blows my mind that phage have adapted/borrowed a bacterial defense system for themselves! 🤓
