This is a welcome shout-out...Former Sec. General ban Ki-Moon likes our recently released report on inequality and carbon emissions: sei.org/publications/t…

On this day 25 yrs ago, Nigeria executed #KenSaroWiwa and eight fellow #Ogoni activists for standing up to the environmental devastation caused by Shell. Those activists played a vast role in building movements for justice over corporate violence. In their memory we draw power

The Civil Society Equity Review released another report, taking on the issue of a global fair fossil fuel phaseout. It's gotta happen or we're cooked. civilsocietyreview.org

Some developing countries think the new #COP28 #GlobalStocktake text is decent, but for a reason that REALLY highlights that the failure of developed countries to deliver climate finance underpins almost all the struggles and difficulties we have in this process. (1/6)

New #COP28 #GlobalStocktake text is weak on finance and equity is almost nonexistent. No surprise then that fossil fuel phaseout language isn't fast, full, fair, or false-solution-free. Sketch of something useful might be there, but with finance & equity it could be so much more

Excellent stream from Jan Ivar Korsbakken on why simply pointing fingers at “major emitters”, and especially “emerging economies” misses the whole point, and why international climate finance and cooperation is an indispensable part of any viable solution.
