Mental pain is scary. So we keep it hidden. And our society honours it and calls it "strong". It takes strength to open up and be #vulnerable. Let's start by honouring that, and teaching people how to make that safe. Then the change we all so desperately need, will come.

Why is Mental injury NOT an illness? If you broke your leg you wouldn't say you had a "leg disorder"! Diseases are illnesses, but injuries are not. If you have a mental injury you need time to heal, not to be told you are "ill". It takes your power away. #mentalhealth

I often meet people who tightly hold back their emotions. Somewhere in their life, they got shamed for being too emotional. You can break this cycle, by making it okay for the hurting part to be seen & heard. Once it has calmed down, such a strong mask won't be necessary.
