As part of a project on The Geoethics of Extractive Industries , I had the privilege of working with an amazing group of writers from Otago, NZ, offering their responses to #FouldenMaar: a geological site, home to past, present and future stories of the Earth. Very happy to announce publication of my book in November with Stanford Press. It follows young Egyptian men as they struggle to locate fulfilling jobs and relationships in a capitalist system that encourages people to dream but delivers insecurity. Book launches to follow!

The S.AND research group at the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology is delighted to launch its twin account on twitter. We’ve established a presence on mastodon as well - hcommons.social/@sandworlds - loads of sand-related posts and more there! Stay tuned.
