Whatās on today at Biomolecular Horizons 2024? Join Peter Mace & me for the āCell Signalling and Metabolismā plenary session at 9:25 this morning in Plenary Hall 3, starring Heather Christofk (Christofk Lab), Febbraio Laboratory & Blumenthal Lab!

So sorry I couldnāt be there, Sonia (as I was giving a talk in another session at the same time) but so delighted for you to have had the opportunity to share your work. Iāve heard the talk was great! Biomolecular Horizons 2024 UNSW Biotechnology & Biomolecular Sciences

I really enjoyed the beautiful talk by Paul Thomas as part of Gene Editing Day at Biomolecular Horizons 2024 exploring the use of CRISPR technology & natural gene drives to find new ways to control invasive pest species!

Congratulations to Anthea Lee on her beautiful talk at Biomolecular Horizons 2024 as part of Gene Editing Day! UNSW Biotechnology & Biomolecular Sciences

Congratulations, Anthony Weiss, on winning the ASBMB 2024 Lemberg Medal! I really enjoyed your Medal Lecture at Biomolecular Horizons 2024. Amazing how your tropoelastin work has progressed from when I first learned about it as an undergraduate student at University of Sydney, to now in the clinic!

Cuttlefish and seahorses and jellyfish, oh my! I had a great time hanging out with the lab at the Biomolecular Horizons 2024 conference social event at SEA LIFE Melbourne last night. We even saw Pesto, the huge baby penguin! Itās a bit sad that the conference is almost over! @unswbabs

Congratulations to Anthea Lee on her excellent presentation at the ANZOS 2024 Annual Scientific Meeting today! Iām speaking later in this session & this will be a hard act to follow! UNSW Biotechnology & Biomolecular Sciences

And as always it was great to hear Prof Kate Quinlan summarise the amazing work that the lab has done over the years š§āš¬ super clear presentation!

We made it to beautiful Delphi in Greece for the #GreeKLF meeting! Today Merlin Crossley gave a brief history of the field & Manan Shah gave an excellent invited oral presentation! Looking forward to hearing about more KLF research & connecting with the community. UNSW Biotechnology & Biomolecular Sciences

Itās a beautiful morning in Delphi & Iām ready for a big day of talks & connections with the #GreeKLF commmunity! UNSW Biotechnology & Biomolecular Sciences

Great talk by Prof Kate Quinlan at the #GreeKLF meeting going over many years of work investigating KLF3 in immune cells. UNSW Biotechnology & Biomolecular Sciences

And as the sun sets on the third day of the #GreeKLF meeting in Delphi, it is time to head off to celebrate at the Closing Dinner & Party! UNSW Biotechnology & Biomolecular Sciences Merlin Crossley Manan Shah

Thanks to the later #GreeKLF conference start this morning, I was able to do my morning walk after sunrise! Delphi is beautiful! Now time for science⦠UNSW Biotechnology & Biomolecular Sciences Merlin Crossley Manan Shah

The #GreeKLF meeting ended today but was followed by a great group visit to the Delphi Archeological Museum & Site! It has been a wonderful trip. Thank you to Konstantinos Drosatos & Jonathan Katz for organising an amazing meeting! UNSW Biotechnology & Biomolecular Sciences Merlin Crossley Manan Shah

In an exciting day for the lab, our three 2024 honours students successfully handed in their theses today! Well done, Cleo, Tahlia & Tia (& your respective joint supervisors Manan Shah, Sergey & Annalise Psaila) on reaching this milestone! We are very proud of you. UNSW Biotechnology & Biomolecular Sciences

The stage is set for the UNSW Biotechnology & Biomolecular Sciences Research Symposium today! Iām looking forward to a day of connecting with my BABS colleagues & discussing new ways we can collaborate in our research endeavours & support each other. UNSW Science

Just ICYMI, earlybird rego, oral abstract submissions and award applications for #lornegenome25 have been extended to Friday 15 Nov 2024! The LorneGenomeConferenc have been busily assembling a great program and we can't wait to see you in Lorne in February 2025! lornegenome.org

ā¼ļøToday is the last day to submit your LorneGenomeConferenc abstract for an oral presentation, your award application and to register at the earlybird rateā¼ļø If you've not already done so, time is running out. We look forward to seeing you in Lorne lornegenome.org #lornegenome25

On Monday, Annalise Psaila graduated from her PhD! Congratulations, Dr Psaila, on reaching this very well-deserved career milestone! And I am delighted to be able to work with you for a bit longer as you're staying on as postdoc in the lab. #PhDone UNSW Biotechnology & Biomolecular Sciences UNSW Science UNSW Graduate Research School

I am very proud of the lab (led by Sonia Goozee) for their efforts this year to gain LEAF (Laboratory Efficiency Assessment Framework) Bronze Accreditation. This is an internationally recognised green lab accreditation based on sustainable lab practices UNSW Biotechnology & Biomolecular Sciences UNSW Science
