I hear a lot of requests from cities on creative economic development policy/research. This analysis of post covid downtown office rebound —>

YES. Especially for state and local govs that lack capacity and resources, put this responsibility to work with qualified third parties to perform audits etc. (including paying the fees)

Honored to be at UNLincoln today to speak at a convening of 200+ faculty focused on co-creating research and innovation. This gathering was inspired by MetroLab Network’s R&D agenda workshop in November and is an outstanding example for other universities to model.

New research across 7,000+ knowledge workers shows generative AI boosted solo-task efficiency but left collaborative work untouched: heavy users cut weekly email time by 3.6 hours (-31 %) and wrote documents a bit faster, while meeting hours stayed flat.

It's a new era at FAS. Today we bring MetroLab Network aboard because we realized we can do more together than separately. Cannot wait to work with Kate Garman Burns and her team on the state and local science & tech agenda. MetroLab Network + Federation of American Scientists🔬 = 👊 More below 👇

What a day. 1) announced MetroLab Network is joining Federation of American Scientists🔬 2) first day as a Director at FAS 3) went to an event on using evidence + data in policy making. This called for lemons and matching with my little one.

Sitting at the Salt Lake City airport lounge where there’s a baby grand piano. Three people have played it since I’ve sat here. Including a TSA agent. And I mean *played* it as people listen. The simple things can make for the best place making.
