FINALLY. Thanks to the tireless efforts of NEA members and our allies over the years, we repealed GPO and WEP! Across the country, educators—and other public servants, like firefighters and nurses—can rest easy knowing they will get their full, earned retirement benefits.

Tonight, at 11:15 CST, the US Senate passed the Social Security Fairness Act. This bill returns Social Security benefits to former teachers, firemen, police officers and other government retirees! President Biden has said he will now sign it and right a 50 year wrong! 👍Missouri State Teachers Association

GPO/WEP is finally repealed. Missouri Educators will no longer have their money stolen by the government thanks in part to the hard work of generations of leaders in Missouri NEA who have worked tirelessly for the last 40 years to get this done. What a win!

Your activism made this possible. We repealed GPO and WEP and restored Social Security benefits for millions of educators, first responders, and other public service workers.

Last Saturday I attended the 39th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Statewide Celebration Kick-off Program for Missouri. It was an amazing event and I was so happy to see my friends Eryca and Yolonda Fountain Henderson recognized with Distinguished Community Service Awards.

Governor Kehoe's Inauguration ceremony was certainly something I will always remember. I was honored to serve on the Escort committee and walk through the newly restored Bronze Doors to thousands of Missourians ready to celebrate the event. Even better to spend with my friends.

The Inaugural Ball was such a fun party. Made it down the Grand Staircase without tripping and had fun visiting with everyone. So much support from family and friends, and I knew a lot more people this time around. I wish work at the Capital was always this easy.
