Curious to know if current large language models fall in love (treat #animacy in a human-like manner)? 😊 Check out the pre-print of our EMNLP 2025 work and Michael's thread below! Surely, the supervisors (Yonatan Belinkov and I) are in love with this paper 😉🧡 #NLProc #LLMs

A nice session at KNAW tonight looking back on the year since the launch of ChatGPT — Katia Shutova is giving a short technical glimpse behind the curtains (🥁) of LLMs right now, that I made some illustrations for! Livestream: youtube.com/live/Nn41XWARa…

Despite having almost no money, academics still developed (just since 2020) diffusion models, FlashAttention, prefix tuning, DPO, essentially every neural IR model, many of the methods for long contexts, and the majority of the important benchmarks, among many other things.

🐧Are LLMs classical or nonmonotonic reasoners? In our #ACL2024 paper, we look at generics (“Birds fly”) and exceptions (“Penguins don’t fly”). 💡TL;DR: Comparing LLM to human reasoning is challenging since LLMs fail to reason consistently given supporting or unrelated examples.

I am really happy to share our new #CVPR 2025 paper (Cross-modal Information Flow in Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLM)). We investigate the internal working mechanism of MLLM including where in the model and how is visual and linguistic information integrated.
