Cheering on my ace friend Dave Charles - not only innovating knowledge, but being a big support to me these last few weeks and always checking in 🙌

So many inspiring talks today, thank you Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. I remember having a wonderful working relationship when I worked in practice in Oldham, referring dermatology cases to Susan Paterson and always knowing they were in such good hands. Good luck in your new role as president.❤️

A few people have checked in on me due to not being at RCVS Day. I don't tweet much but share elsewhere. I had lower back pain, 5 weeks ago it progressed suddenly to me not being able to walk or feel my right leg. I was in hospital for 2 weeks. 6 MRIs later, slowly recovering.❤️

I have never felt so humbled. Tonight on social media the amazing veterinary community collaborated to raise a glass to my Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons award, even though I couldn't make it live. Over 50 different people. I can't tell you what this means ❤️

Trauma doesn’t make you stronger. It wreaks havoc on your nervous system. It punctures your digestive track. It keeps you stuck in a loop of hyper vigilance. To suggest someone is stronger because of it is to dismiss what they’ve had to do to survive.

One of the hardest things about MY job is seeing misinformation like this on the internet, which causes far more trauma and internal conflict to people than they'll ever realise. Vet teams don't judge you if you decide to leave, they respect your decision & comfort your pet. ❤️

6 weeks ago I was in the hospital after weeks of pain, unable to sit up or stand, and no feeling in my right leg. Today I had my first walk that lasted over 5minutes. The small things are the big things 🥳

Incredibly inspired by yesterday's TED talk from James Timpson - now *that's* how you create an awesome company culture. Can't wait to read the book!

I've never yet been on a train that's been on time from Avanti West Coast - fourth time in the last 6 weeks where I've missed the last train of the night and been left stranded in Manchester.😕
