Twittersphere, I'm searching for blind sensitivity readers who are based in the UK for my YA novel which forms part of my PhD on improving disability representation. Can anyone help or point me in the right direction? Please RT and my DMs are open.

On the train back to Edinburgh from London & still thinking about the wonderful Sounding Modernism conference I’ve been attending these past two days. Such a thought-provoking mix of studies in sound, radio, literature... Thank you all + especially Anna Snaith & Dr Imogen Free!

So today, Durham academics got a MAB email from the VC. Not to say there'd finally be a call from Durham University to restart negotiations, OBVIOUSLY. An email saying anyone who gives up on the MAB & does their marking in the next couple of weeks will get their June deductions back.

I've got a lot of author/bookshop events coming up in early autumn and beyond which I'm very excited for. First up is the *official launch* of my new book, Way Makers, the first ever anthology of women's writing about walking. Come join me in delightful Toppings on 5 September.

I am super excited to take part in this fantastic symposium alongside all these amazing scholars! I'll be speaking about Fannie Lou Hamer's sonic presence and intergenerational exchange and how her songs and speeches resonated differently across race, class and gender lines.

First Durham commute of the 2023/24 academic year & I’m back to teaching Beowulf! The set text is Heaney, but I’ll be using Headley’s energetic translation to get students thinking about translation and Grendel’s mother the ‘āglǣc-wīf’ — ‘monstrous hell-bride’ or ‘warrior-woman’?
