Thinking Like A Mountain: the next event in the Centre for Place Writing womentalkplace online series curated & hosted by Helen Mort will feature Dr Kerri Andrews & Abbie Garrington discussing gender, mountaineering, & ways of noticing. Thursday, 1 June, 19:30 eventbrite.co.uk/e/thinking-lik…

🔉 One week left to register for 'Sounding Modernism' King's College London, June 22-23 - join us for soundings from the inimitable Michael Bull, James Mansell & Ned Allen (to name a few!) and two fantastic keynotes from Claire Davison & @_Alex_Goody 🔉 soundingmodernism.wordpress.com

On the train back to Edinburgh from London & still thinking about the wonderful Sounding Modernism conference I’ve been attending these past two days. Such a thought-provoking mix of studies in sound, radio, literature... Thank you all + especially Anna Snaith & Dr Imogen Free!

Extremely disappointing that, while other unis (most recently York) release statements acknowledging that the marking boycott can only end following renewed negotiation, Durham University is releasing statements downplaying support for the boycott within @UCU. palatinate.org.uk/durham-univers…

So today, Durham academics got a MAB email from the VC. Not to say there'd finally be a call from Durham University to restart negotiations, OBVIOUSLY. An email saying anyone who gives up on the MAB & does their marking in the next couple of weeks will get their June deductions back.

“It would not be right to stand here and not acknowledge staff who have been fighting for not more than the bare minimum”. How can we thank you enough for this brave and moving oration at Edinburgh Graduation today. UCU Edinburgh UCU Staff-Student Solidarity Network Edinburgh
