I’ve spoken to close friends of Abdhi Patel, from Northampton, this evening about the loss they are feeling so deeply after she was killed in the Indian air disaster. Abdhi sounds like such a wonderful woman. Condolences to all those who loved her northantstelegraph.co.uk/news/emergency…

Just a little note for our many FB correspondents. When someone in a story has a black or brown face and you comment ‘deport’ or ‘not British’ when he is, in fact, British. Or you say ‘go home’, when he’s from Wellingborough, that is racist. It’s not the 1970s anymore. HTH.

Simply don’t see why people are moaning about this. Two local lads who’ve done an incredible job, sponsoring their hometown football team, and we might get some good social media traction too. Total no-brainer for North End. Glad the club is trying something a bit different 🥔

Worst-kept secret in football 😅 but I think this is a lovely link-up. Can’t believe some fans are knocking the huge investment of a local firm in our club Well done to all those who got this across the line & thanks to the spudbros for having faith in their local team

The club have been told by fans to think outside the box for years - and deserve credit for today's news #pnefc blogpreston.co.uk/2025/06/opinio…

I see people are complaining about Lucy Connolly’s bodycam footage not being reviewed quickly enough. It’s been 8 days since she was allegedly manhandled in HMP Peterborough. Meanwhile, there are victims waiting 4 years for rape trials. Justice delayed is justice denied.

I don’t know when people turned so interminably mean. Imagine seeing someone crying, and in great distress, and your first reaction is to think about how much clout you can get for it on social media. I can’t fathom it.

No actual denial of the allegations here, just an ad hominem attack on the journalist who has not yet published a story. A well-trodden path by those with something to hide. You can’t hang your hat on uncovering corruption then moan when someone exposes your own corruption.

Brilliant, brilliant work by The Observer. It’s almost impossible as a reporter to expose people who claim to have a terminal illness. They use it as a shield.

Corby MP Lee Barron voted against the government again this evening on the third reading of the welfare reforms bill. The concessions have clearly not gone far enough for him and he’s sticking to his guns. There were 47 Labour rebels in total.
