I’m leaving the hospital after my first month of residency. I got to deliver 25 babies, first assist on C-sections, fix vaginas back together, have deep and wonderful conversations, and see the breadth and depth of the human experience. So grateful to be an #OBGYN #resident

Me visiting home from residency: Grandma, I’ve delivered like 30 babies in the last few weeks. Grandma: Aw! Where are the pictures?! I don’t believe you. She really said pics or it didn’t happen 😂 #OBGYN #MedTwitter

I’m learning residency isn’t just about learning new responsibilities, it’s letting go of some old ones. I can’t do things I could do as a med student—like giving each patient 15mins on postpartum rounds. I’m finding balance between efficiency and being the doctor I want to be.

In my third week of #OBGYN residency, I walked into a laboring patient’s room. “I recognize you! You’re the doctor whose cervical checks don’t hurt” I said, sheepishly “Oh, you met me during week one when I was too timid to even find the cervix” She cackled along with me 😂

Had such a great time at my first OBGYN conference as an #OBGYN resident at #SOGH these past few days! Got to meet familiar mentors and new friends (might’ve fangirled when I met Dr. Jennifer Lincoln | OBGYN) and learned so much! Can’t wait to get involved and for all the conferences to come!

Here’s another peer-reviewed article: a moving (and anonymous) account from ob/gyn residents in Missouri about the cases they have witnessed of care denied or delayed since abortion was banned there: meridian.allenpress.com/jgme/article/1…

This year, OB-GYN applicants used a new system - ResidencyCAS - to apply to residency programs. ACOG just released preliminary application data - and a couple of figures caught my eye. (🧵)

Today, along with 2,000 other NIH employees, I had to clear out my office 😭 It was truly the honor of my life to work with such incredibly passionate people focused on improving human health.

Hey! Elon Musk your doge minions just fired me and my colleagues at CMMI. We were working on improving maternal health outcomes AT LOWER COSTS so that less pregnant women would die in this county. I thought that would fit nicely into your agenda?
