Hi, Wallace Marshall and @MaryMirvis! Hope you're well! This is beautiful work. I'm assuming this cell is in late log stage (not stat phase)? (@Merz - I thought you'd be interested too)
The beautiful University of Washington campus is ready to welcome students for the start of the autumn term. I'm double-ready this year with updated covid and influenza vaccine boosters
A great paper to start with is journals.aps.org/prl/abstract/1…, which uses statistical physics to describe the shape of your ponytail, though not the length at which each strand will break. This paper won Raymond E. Goldstein an Ig Nobel prize. Maybe one of these prizes is in your future too!
#eBook Deal alert! So Simple a Beginning by Raghu Parthasarathy is $2.99! Get the #eBook of this sweeping tour of #biophysics on sale until 9/25 through your preferred vendor: hubs.ly/Q02PT2Zm0
Rejoice! This paper by @sm_aurelia and Sreeja Sasidharan is now in print in today's issue (1 October 2004) of Biophysical Journal.
I don't know which of the many kind people in UWChemistry posted these thoughtful notes on the doors of our main lecture hall to encourage University of Washington students during their exams last term. Whoever you are, you are wonderful, and I am so glad to work with you.
Hey University of Washington friends - the Combined Fund Drive (give.wa.gov/mycfd) has started! Want to donate directly to UWChemistry? So easy! I just did. Also to @voicesofnw_ea, the featured charity. In the 1st week, increasing a donation by $5, gets you a $5 coffee card (so very Seattle)
Hooray! See you at the SACNAS meeting! I'll be representing UWChemistry inclusivechemUW
Representing University of Washington at #NDiSTEM2024 of SACNAS! If you’re an undergraduate, please check out summer research opportunities at IMOD STC and Clean Energy Institute, and apply to graduate school at UWChemistry! Deadlines are coming up, and we'd love to receive your applications
