I just finished listening to this excellent, while sometimes disturbing, series of six podcasts about teaching reading. I am thankful for what we now know about the best way to teach children to read. podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/sol…

Loving being at Research Conversations Christian Education – a conference close to my heart. Listening to the excellent Lynn Swaner giving her keynote about flourishing schools. So inspired by her words. #RESCON23

Thinking a lot about a knowledge-rich curriculum as I read the excellent The knowledge Gap by Natalie Wexler I wonder if the reason kids don’t have an answer to parents’ question “what did you learn at school?” Is because they don’t remember actually learning anything of interest

I’ve just finished reading The Knowledge Gap by Natalie Wexler. It’s an important read in my ever growing understanding of reading instruction & knowledge rich curriculums.

This week we are starting extension maths classes to support our gifted maths learners. I am very excited to be back in the classroom teaching a subject and cohort I love.

Incredible presentation about effective curriculum from Ben Jensen. There’s so much work to do - Ben has helped us to see where we need to go. Thinking about Peps talk on motivation to help us motivate teachers to make the necessary changes. Exciting times! #researchEDNewy

Very disappointed in the lack of support from Flight Centre After hours of phone calls and trying to get compassionate support to cancel or change the booking till 2026 we’re told all they can do is upgrade us to premium economy at our expense. I’ll never use this company again
