I analyze Green Bay Packers salary cap & roster. Help explain the dollars & sense of the team.

Also other nerdy, random, or interesting stuff in my brain.

$165K of guarantees for DT Nazir Stackhouse is significant in terms of what Packers give out to UDFAs. One to watch come training camp & roster cut downs.

The Packers are signing WR Jadon Janke, per a source. The former South Dakota State standout spent parts of last season with the Texans and Dolphins.

The Packers are not excited to pay Elgton Jenkins $20M to play football in 2026 - they have cap crunch next year with many FAs and ballooning recent deals. I get he wants long term security, but the Packers likely balk at guaranteeing more for their G/C turning 31 next season.

Packers top 13 contracts in 2026 count more on the salary cap than their entire 2025 roster of 90 players currently count on 2025 salary cap (top 51 rules). Things got expensive in a hurry in Green Bay - and that's with a dozen UFAs not on the books scheduled for free agency.

The Packers future plans at OL include a 1st rounder (Morgan), 2nd rounder (Belton), top 6 paid guard (Banks), and a future $100M contract player (Tom). Securing an expensive 3rd contract for center entering his 30s (Jenkins) is not near to the top of the Packers to-do list.

When Elgton Jenkins signed his deal in 2022 he likely thought his future could eventually be outside at tackle - he has incentives specifically for his performance at tackle. Instead the Packers want to move in inside to center - a much less sexy & lower-wage position.

The Packers have 8 starters who are scheduled to be unrestricted free agents next year, yet only 1 is a "Must Not Let Out the Building" guy - his name is Zach Tom. The list: Tom, Quay, Watson, Doubs, Rasheed, Rhyan, Enagbare, Orzech

As of yesterday afternoon there are only 2/32 of the 2nd round draft picks signed - and they both got 100% guaranteed contracts. When the Packers' Anthony Belton eventually signs, he will land +/- 65% guaranteed.

It's wild the Packers have 8 starters from their 2022 draft class. It will be interesting to see which ones will be around next year as their rookie contracts end.

My take on the Tush Push: 🔹Teams have millionaires playing on defense, figure out a way to stop it. 🔹Don't allow an illegal formation by the offense. 🔹You want to risk your QB getting crushed by several huge humans several times a game, great but eventually he's getting hurt.
