It has exacerbated existing inequalities in education in the country. Underfunded, understaffed & underequipped public schools (where most learners are) can't deliver this. We still have learners under trees, sitting on stones with no textbooks.

We really need to hold the media accountable for alarmist and misleading headlines. Policy recommendations are just that-recommendations. There are processes and procedures to be followed, with no guarantee that they will translate to legislation.

The thing about policy change is that when interests align, things move. In this case, it could be a bizarre alignment of public health, national security, political and market interests.
