"I learned that we cannot really give voice to people, because people are not voiceless. It is how we listen and who we listen to that silences certain groups of people." -Bhattacharya, 2019

Genuinely curious - why do PhD students cost so much in tuition and fees when we use so few university resources? We’re taught in early years by profs who aren’t even paid to teach us, and the rest of our time we contribute as workers. Imagining if that money went to us instead?

I had a great time presenting at The National Women’s Studies Association (NWSA) this year along side some amazing scholars, Brenda Lara, PhD and Mia and see fellow gators, Elisa, Ebony, Porsche, Claudia, Karen and Ange present their phenomenal work! Off to the next conference! ✈️ #nwsa2022 #firstindividualpresentation

I take the performativity of a lot of these so-called "critical" spaces in academia as par for the course. At this point, I'm like, "it is what it is." However, when I see senior scholars making beaucoup money from the same institutions they are writing about abolishing or 1/6

Today we celebrate the life and work of the amazing Audre Lorde (February 18, 1934-November 17, 1992), who transitioned on this day, 30 years ago. As a radical Black lesbian woman, her words continue to be an inspiration for Black feminist and queer survival to this day.
