Our new study showed toxicity of ZnO nanoparticles to mussel can be jointly influenced by temperature & salinity. High temp. & salinity raised agglomeration but lowered dissolution of ZnO-NPs. Such property changes enhanced their accumulation. Free paper: authors.elsevier.com/c/1h8RlB8ccyYKN

Our new paper Environmental Science & Technology Journals reports trophodynamics of perfluoroethylcyclohexane sulfonate isomers in a marine food web & 6:2 & 8:2 chlorinated polyfluorinated ether sulfonates exhibited higher trophic magnification factors than all PFOS isomers. It is an open access paper 😄Enjoy!

Environmental Science & Technology Journals we found levels of tetra/penta/hexa-BDEs in bubbler of cetaceans in Hong Kong waters decreased between 2013−2020 due to their ban in China. Based on correlation, metabolism of tetra-BDE maybe possible source of Me-MeO-tetra-BDE in cetaceans. tinyurl.com/4y2unk2u

We show a ban of harmful chemicals can effectively reduce their tissue levels in dolphins. However, we do see increases of emerging chemicals 😩

Very happy! 😁My doctoral student (now my postdoc) participated in a national scientific research project and take the Jiaolong submarine to dive to a depth of 4,700m to collect various environmental samples to study the distribution of emerging pollutants in deep sea. 👍👍👍🧑‍🔬🧪

Glad to share our new paper in #WaterResearch, titled “Rubber-derived chemicals (RDCs) in urban sewer networks and receiving waters”. We examined 45 RDCs in Hong Kong's municipal sewer networks & yielded some interesting findings. Link to Read Our Paper: authors.elsevier.com/c/1kxG79pi-hqTF
