As of 10AM, the day's first 100F degree feels-like temperatures have already appeared at locations in the Hudson Valley. Additionally, many of those in the Mohawk Valley still recovering from power outages over the weekend are already experiencing feels-like values around 90F.

The NYS Mesonet at UAlbany's Ticonderoga site recently had a reading of 93.1/80.7, which worked out to a heat index of 113.7F. This breaks the all-time network record of 111.3F recorded at the Dover Plains station several years ago. Of course, there's a *lot* of afternoon ahead of us ...

Before today, the record max heat index in the NYS Mesonet at UAlbany's entire 9+ year history was 111.3F. Today, *at least five* stations would have beaten that record, and the Whitehall station reached an insane 117F heat index when they recorded a 94.6/81.4 reading a few minutes ago.
