As a few have pointed out, the claim about lowering cortisol is contextual here to hypercortisolism. There is more nuance in other cases where cortisol may mildly increase, or increase at first and then return to baseline.

The broken logic Raphi points out here should be patently obvious. I've also pointed this problem out to them half a dozen times over the last couple years, but the originators either don't get it or don't admit it and I'm not sure which is worse.

Oof. It hadn't occurred to me that the brain allowing in PUFA for DHA and ARA also means it can allow in linoleic acid. From the first paper in quote, that LA ends up mostly β-oxidized—not great in the brain!

Somewhat surprising to me, because one theory for Neanderthal extinction was inability to harvest enough fat to cope with mega-fauna extinction (Miki Ben-Dor), but perhaps this hadn’t happened yet, or there was too much competition. Link to paper in press release.
