Another wonderful championship contest in Salthill. These games are coming week after week now. Ciaran Kilkenny's drive is undiminished. But Galway's second half recovery will stand to them.

Tipp's first Semple Stadium championship win for six years puts them into playoffs. The crowd came out for them and they delivered. Andrew Ormond superb again Bryan O'Mara master in defence.

Mayo GAA confirm that team manager Kevin McStay is to 'step back' from the role for the immediate future due to health reasons. Best wishes to him.

Quite the response from Mayo. More direct, ambitious approach taken - few reverse gears - and it suited them, typified by Davitt Neary. But it was always coming down to Donegal game anyway.

Draw in Derry now means an Armagh win v Dublin would put them through as group winners with nothing to play for in final game. Which suits Galway.

Armagh win authority and now guaranteed to top their group. But made easy by Dublin's shooting - 18 wides, four more dropped short. Never figures you'd associate with them.

Another brilliant qualifier game in Newry. Dublin and Derry 0-13 each, HT. Couple of very dubious 50m advancements for mark obstruction at the end have balanced up. A troublesome rule/penalty that should be ditched completely.

Heartbreak for Mayo, Ciaran Moore knocks them out of championship with 'hooter' score. Mayo had equalised through Fergal Boland, enough to survive, only seconds earlier. Huge finish. Donegal now at home next week v Louth, Galway or Cork.

None of the four provincial champions have made it directly to the All Ireland football quarter finals. The detachment increases.

That was one of the great defiant performances for many championship seasons from any team. Immense from Dublin hurlers. Sean Brennan's save from Gillane!

Colm Keys (@keyscolm) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Noel McGrath's vision and ambition for that pass to Oisin O'Donoghue for Tipp's goal! Just class. And so synonymous with his great career.

Absorbing game in Newry. Galway win 2-26 to 3-21 and Matthew Thompson again shows why he's the season's 'bolter'. Shane Walsh superb 2nd quarter too. But so much of the day belonged to Odhran Murdock, Down's playmaker, presence and chief agitator. Magnificent.

No 'mutual agreement' or words to that affect in Kevin McStay's Mayo departure note tonight. 'Relieved of his duties' sounds so much more abrupt. Had 3 years of 4 done. Probably wouldn't have continued anyway.

Donegal impressive in that 2nd half. Scored 1-15 to Monaghan's 0-5. Close to their highest level yet there. 13-point turnaround.

Dublin's reluctance to shoot v Tyrone got more pronounced as game went on. Beaten 5-0 on two-pointers. Beaten 23-10 on two-pointers in 7 championship games. Big problem for them.

Dessie Farrell leaves the main stage after three-and-a-half decades as one of GAA's most influential figures. All-Ireland winning player and manager (twice). All-Ireland minor and U 21 winning manager. And GPA architect.

Dublin, Kerry and Galway, the top three on the All-Ireland roll of honour, all beaten by the same team in a championship season for the first time ever. Some performance from Meath. Jordan Morris with 1-6 unplayable.

Colm Keys (@keyscolm) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Kerry have set the highest 2025 bar now. Brilliant 2nd half, beyond Donegal's yesterday. 16 points ( 3 two-pointers) from 20 second half shots. 0-14 without reply in 15 minutes.

Paudie Clifford made a clear second half impact for Kerry. David Clifford really came into it. But Joe O'Connor switching wings and then getting him into the middle such a crucial difference.
