Sunset Beach is one of my favorite beaches. Notice how it is flat in the summer and in the winter it can have 10-15’+ waves. There are homes directly next to the beach for miles in both directions. Thankfully they all seem to have evacuated.

The final alarm has sounded on Hawaii. Midway has observed 7’ waves so they may be much bigger than the predicted 3’ waves.

So far so good. Waves seem to be getting smaller. Hawaii’s estimated time of arrival was over one hour off. Typical for Hawai’i govt. I would like to remind people that it’s been two years since the fires and Lahaina still looks like a war zone.
