The #OSIRISREx spacecraft has released the capsule containing a piece of asteroid Bennu. The capsule will plummet through space for four hours, enter the atmosphere over California and land about 13 minutes later in Utah. go.nasa.gov/3POfkA2

Today's goal is to transfer the capsule from the range to a temporary clean room here at UTTR and put the sample on a nitrogen purge. Avoiding contamination is the priority and the team is taking every precaution to protect the sample. go.nasa.gov/44ZkHRe
