In-person Election Day voter turnout is about 23% so far in Groton’s District 3, plus there are over 600 additional ballots with early voting and absentees, said Moderators Ari Skelcher and Reaghan Mandeville. Skelcher said voter turnout has been really steady on Tuesday.

In-person Election Day voter turnout in Groton’s District 2 was about 27% as of 2:30 p.m., plus another 626 people voted early. Poll Worker Josephine McDonald said people voting early likely decreased the flow of voters on Election Day but turnout still has been steady.

Groton voter Matthew Beebe, outside Fitch High School Tuesday, said he votes every single chance he gets. “I believe it’s a priority,” he said.

Groton voter Karen Hescock said she came out to vote “to support Kamala and all the women in the country.”

In-person Election Day voter turnout in Groton’s District 7 is about 28%, not including more than 700 people who voted early.

In-person Election Day voter turnout in Groton’s District 6 is about 27%. Moderator Emily Lavoie said that’s less than in previous years but it’s because people already voted early, not because fewer people are voting.
