Russia can stop its war against Ukraine today by sending its soldiers home. Instead, it continues to choose aggression. I therefore welcome the deal on a 17th package of #sanctions against Russia, to be agreed upon by EU foreign ministers next week at the #FAC. 1/2

This sanctions package will target Russia’s military industrial complex, the shadow fleet and oil exports. We are committed to continuing increasing pressure as long as Russia continues its aggression. 2/2

25 years ago, we were the first country to legalise same-sex marriage. Next year, Amsterdam will host the WorldPride. Our message is clear: everyone should be allowed to be themselves. That is why equal rights for #LGBTIQ+ persons is a main priority in our foreign policy. 2/2

“Maritime transport is not just a mode of transit, it is the backbone of the global economy” At the UN #SecurityCouncil session on maritime security, #KingdomNL’s PR spoke on behalf of the #BeNeLux 🇧🇪🇳🇱🇱🇺 We need strong rules, safe seas and teamwork to protect our oceans.

This week at ECOSOC OAS, countries discuss how to strengthen UN development work. #KingdomNL’s PR called for: 1️⃣ Full implementation of UNDS reform 2️⃣ Predictable and sufficient funding for the Resident Coordinator system 3️⃣ More efficiency and coordination on the ground 🙌

📍At the #UNSC stakeout for #PoCWeek2025, #KingdomNL joined 80+ delegations to deliver one message: "Protecting civilians is not optional” it is a legal obligation. We must uphold international humanitarian law, enable humanitarian access, and ensure accountability.

Every year, the UN #SecurityCouncil holds an open debate on #ProtectionOfCivilians. #KingdomNL called for people-centered, integrated protection: from prevention to mental health to accountability. Protection must be more than a promise. We must listen to civilians and act.

Every day, humanitarians step into danger to deliver hope. Their safety cannot be an afterthought. At the #PoCWeek2025 event, co-hosted by 🇦🇺 & 🇨🇭, #KingdomNL’s Katja Lasseur stressed that aid must never be politicized or targeted. We work to protect those who protect others.

#KingdomNL thanks La France à l'ONU 🇫🇷🇺🇳, Saudi Arabia Mission to the UN 🇸🇦 & the working group co-chairs for organizing today's preparatory meeting on advancing the two-state solution. We will contribute constructively to the working groups in the run-up to this important conference coming June.
