We are so excited about the start of this mural on the wall that will be for holding discharge messages and messages of hope. Staff and mums have been working on the project together, and we can't wait for it to progress

We had a wonderful visit from the guinea pig cafe visit the ward today. It was enjoyed by mum, babies and staff alike. Even when I may have interrupted the ward managers meetings to share the guinea pig love.

We're starting to get into the Festive Spirit on the ward after the mums asked to put up the tree. We've got some of Christmas activities planned out, special visitors coming and lots to hopefully help this period feel happy.

Difficult feelings are a bit like the weather. We can't simply wish away dark skies or rain. But we can adapt our plans and remember that the sun will be out again soon

Another festive day here at the MBU. We had a visit from Father Christmas who came to see the babies for their first Christmas! The team had to get in and check that we've made the nice list! A wonderful buffet by our incredible chef & some Christmas singing completed the day.

We've had a wonderful week watching some of our mums be discharged onto the next steps of their perinatal recovery journey. We are so grateful for getting to be part of your journey, the kind words, lovely thank you cards, cakes, chocolates, biscuits and amazing sensory gifts.

What a gorgeous day for a walk out with some of the mums from the ward. Lucky to have such fantastic places to walk locally.

Our discharge message wall is making progress. This wall had been made with so much love and input from patients and staff. Whether that's design ideas or actually being involved in the colouring of it. This is such a special part of the ward.

What better way to spend and evening with a homemade Indian curry and a movie.

We love mixing practical with theory on the MBU and feel it adds to the learning experiences we can provide. The Blurt Foundation sensory self care toolkit group covered the taste and touch sense this week with some fabulous things to try. #blurtfoundation #sensory #MBU

In our morning meeting yesterday the mums asked for a Teddy Bears picnic. So yesterday our OT and OTAP set up a wonderful picnic with teddy's, books and shade tents for the babies. A lovely time was had by all. #yousaidwedid #teddybearspicnic
