We have been busy working in our Leadership Groups to create stop motion animations for this year’s Big Big Art Project. This year’s theme is ‘A Musical Christmas’. We can’t wait to see them being projected on the wall in Perth!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Kinloch Rannoch! It may have been cold outside but we were kept warm by our Christmas jumpers and a very yummy Christmas lunch! (The Christmas cupcakes were a big hit for pudding!!)

We had a lovely Christmas Church Service this morning and then checked on the trees we planted in the park. We were very excited to see that many of them were now growing taller than the protective wrap that we put on them!🌳

In P1-3’s music lesson today, we learnt how to hold our recorders and where we needed to place our finger and thumb to make the ‘b’ note. Then we learnt how to recognise and play minim notes, minim rest, crotchet notes and crotchet rests. Here is the last piece they learnt today.

Due to the weather warnings in place, our school and nursery will be closed on Friday 24th January. The remote learning activities for all P1-7 pupils have now been emailed out to all parents. Please upload completed work onto your child’s Just2Easy account.

It may have been delayed by the storm but we had a marvellous cèilidh on Monday for our Burns celebration. The children recited some of his famous works&shared their own poems that they wrote at home during the storm day. There was also dancing & an address to some Tunnocks!

In P1-3 we have started to learn about money. We used Numicon to help us to understand the value of each coin which then helped us to count money and we used coins to help us with our calculations. It was a great start to our new learning!

Our right of the fortnight has been Article 24 linked to Children’s Mental Health week. In assembly we thought of lots of different things we could do to encourage positive mental health&took part in a ‘rainbow relaxation’ to end our week feeling calm. #MentalHealthMatters #Uncrc

There was lots of mathematical thinking, discussions&problem solving going on in P4-7 today as an evil wizard (Ms Sinclair!) locked them all in the Tall Tower&they had to calculate routes out to undo her spell. Luckily they all escaped in time for break! NRICH maths Numeracy@PKC

As requested by our pupils, our knitting and crochet lunchtime club started today! They were taught how to hold their needles and started to learn how to cast on. We can’t wait to see their skills develop!

This afternoon, P4-7 started making their own Viking style pouches. They have cut out the pieces, which will be sewn together tomorrow, and embroidered the front piece with their initial as a Viking rune. We used a split stitch for our embroidery and think they look great!

Day 2 of making our Viking inspired pouches in P4-7! We learnt how to back stitch&used this to sew our 2 pieces of fabric together. We turned them out & had some pretty impressive mini bags with our rune designs on the front. The next step is to make cords for a drawstring top!

P1-3 applied their mathematical knowledge to create their own board games that involved money! They designed their games in pairs and in literacy they wrote up instructions on how to play their games, which we then tested out. Great work! 💷🎲

Thank you to everyone that came along or donated to Rannoch Fest 2025! We were so pleased to see so many members of our community&we raised an amazing £686.91! The children worked so hard on creating their stalls and rehearsing their performances - we couldn’t be prouder of them!
