Hitters who R sitting on a pitch R not guessing. They R using empirical data 2 make decisions.Often it’s about sitting hard or soft 2 increase their chances of being on time. Paul Phillips of SportsSense says that when U get the pitch U are sitting on,it appears bigger & slower.
